What do you really need from a smartphone?
That, probably, is the question you should be asking when looking for a smartphone. If you want the best phone, then you want all the things, and if you don’t want to spend an unreasonable amount of money, you’ll need to do a little soul searching. Do you want a good camera? For Nord 2, exceeding your expectations starts with the phone’s 50 MP AI Triple Camera. The main camera has a huge Sony IMX766 sensor that absorbs 56% more light for vivid and colorful photos and videos, especially in low-light environments. We also added optical image stabilization (OIS) to help make the content you shoot smooth and blur-free.
Along with a stellar camera system, we wanted our latest phone to have an intelligent brain. So, we collaborated with MediaTek to develop the MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI chipset for the OnePlus Nord 2. The “AI” part means the CPU provides Nord 2 with comprehensive AI-enhanced software performance, including optimized photo and video shooting and high-refresh gaming.
By now, you’re probably wondering where OnePlus Nord 2 gets the power to run top-notch cameras and AI CPUs. The answer is a big 4500 mAh dual cell battery. Splitting the battery in half also allowed us to implement Warp Charge 65, which charges Nord 2 up to one day of battery power (70%) in just 15 minutes. That’s twice as fast as Warp Charge 30T for OnePlus Nord!
And to make sure you get the notoriously smooth experience expected of all Nord phones, every new OnePlus Nord 2 comes with OxygenOS 11.3 pre-installed. This latest version of our popular operating system comes with old favorites like Dark Mode and an AOD display, along with fun new stuff like our Games app that supports live in-game chats with Discord.
On top of next-level software, we also gave OnePlus Nord 2 a 6.43 inch 90 Hz Fluid AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution that swims with hi-def imagery. Your fingers will feel like they’re skating as you swipe on this HDR10+ certified high refresh display.
In addition, we upgraded our haptics to Haptics 2.0 for a more sensitive and tactile experience and added dual stereo speakers that provide crisp, clear, and loud sound. And for Nord fans worried about bad connections, we put in dual 5G SIM card slots and Wi-Fi 6 technology that help provide stable connectivity and fast downloads wherever you go.
And don’t worry — we wouldn’t give Nord 2 all these fancy gadgets without making the phone look pretty, too. OnePlus Nord 2 comes in three striking new colorways: Blue Haze, Gray Sierra, and the India-exclusive Green Woods. Along with being classy, the 3D AG glass for Blue Haze and Gray Sierra is angled to feel slimmer and smoother in hand, while Blue Haze and Green Woods are both fingerprint and smudge resistant. Overall, the OnePlus Nord 2 features a design that is smooth, functional, and fantastic to look at.
