Hey Guys, thanks for stopping by and reading my review on the OnePlus Pad 3 together with the Stylo 2 and OnePlus Pad 3 Smart Keyboard.
A special thanks to OnePlus users in Kenya as well, for requesting that we post an honest in house review for the Pad 3.
I’d like to section this article. Beginning with the display and build quality.
Display, Colour and Size
The OnePlus Pad 3 has a massive 13.2inch LCD LTPS display with a nice resolution of 3392×2400 or 3.4k if you want to keep it simple and memorable. It’s great for consuming content, multitasking, creating content, taking notes, etc.
The display is big, beautiful and provides an excellent experience when it comes to watching videos, gaming, or editing photos or videos. Not to mention it has an awesome 144hz refresh rate, so things are as smooth as can be. However, it can be slippery at times when you type, game, or anything where it isn’t propped up. I’d recommend the smart keyboard case for some operations, or gaming with a controller.
Getting back into the build, the tablet is pretty thin, coming in at 5.97mm. That’s pretty nice for something this size. While on the topic of the display, I’d like to mention that it holds its own without being an OLED panel. It has a great colorful, vibrant, and lovely display. Another thing I don’t mind is the color, storm blue. It’s striking in a way I enjoy, but I do hope we experience a matte black tablet one day. (Stealthy, powerful, and running Oxygen OS would be sick!) But until that day, this works as well. I’ll have product photos that hopefully help you see the natural coloring of the device. I’ll share some now, and we’ll move on to other specs.
OnePlus Pad 3 Battery and Performance
The OnePlus Pad 3 comes with two major specs being maxed out to an amazing level. Not only do we have a Snapdragon 8 Elite powering this device. There’s also a 12,140mAh battery to keep it going through the editing, gaming, music, movies, and anything else you could really ask for. With that power, I was able to reach over 110FPS playing call of duty mobile, and I had an excellent experience with Delta Force too.
I can play for extended sessions and not have to worry about the status of the battery, or if the device will keep up with me. It’s been a blast and that’s not even thinking about the work-flows and other things people can do with this thing. I can’t wait to see what it’s like in your hands here in Kenya. But the last piece to the puzzle would have to be charging, am I right? It can top up fairly quickly as it charges at 80watts and goes from 1-100% in roughly 92 minutes. That’s a pretty nice balance.
Connectivity
The OnePlus Pad 3 supports the following connectivity options:
- WiFi 7
- Bluetooth 5.4
- USB Type-C 3.2 (Audio input as well)
- Audio Codecs – SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, LDAC, LHDC
The accessories that I was very fortunate to get with my order are the OnePlus Stylo 2 and the OnePlus pad 3 smart keyboard. Both are useful for me personally. I love that the keyboard can be used while off of the tablet. (Specific US Variant model only) I love how far the hinge for the backplate will allow you to lower it and raise it for viewing needs. This has been something I love, especially since I move around so much. But one thing I did notice with the keyboard is that I can have some issues with highlighting text for copying it and dragging it to move it. That’s the issue I’ve had the most. I hope that this can be fixed with updates along the way.
The OnePlus Stylo 2, which is awesome for photo editing and taking notes in apps like goodnotes 6. It has 16,000 levels of pressure sensitivity, which is wild and something I don’t think I’d truly would test accurately. But it’s nice to know, it also attaches magnetically at the top of the tablet and is charged that way. I wish we got more tips for the Stylo 2 in the box, or even an option to buy more. But that isn’t a fault of the accessory itself.
I think it’s a great tablet and the accessories make it even better. I can recommend this for gaming, content creating, and other uses like reading or journaling.
